Noiret is a new varietal dry red wine, that is a cross of (NY33177, Chancellor and Steuben) developed by Cornell University and released about 2005. This grape produces and excellent full-bodied, richly colored red wine with distinct green and black pepper character with moderate tannin content. The wine also has notes of raspberry, blackberry and mint aroma. The excellent tannin structure and absence of hybrid aromas set this variety apart from other red hybrids. Noiret pairs well with steak, other beef dishes, Italian red sauces, dark chocolate and robust cheeses. This is the darkest win I have ever seen.
